Rising 3's (2yrs - 3yrs+)

Rising 3’s is where we aim to provide an extension to home in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere to support and stimulate your child. We appreciate that for most children this will be their first time away from you; therefore we work with you and your child to help settle them into Playgroup life.

If your child brings in any comforters or special items from home they are encouraged to place them in a "Treasure box" for save keeping throughout the session and can be accessed at any time.

The majority of the activities will be free choice allowing individuals to create/play with the resources of their choosing and allowing opportunities for social skills to development.

As children learn through play we encourage lots of hands on activities both indoors and outdoors. We spend lots of time playing in the Natural Garden, the Mud kitchen and with the water which means that your child may become “messy” sprinkled with fun.

The Pre-school sessions help support development and progression into school. Children enter the building independently and are supported to manage their belongings, self-register, then begin their day of learning through play.

The sessions are free choice with qualified, experienced staff to  support and extend children’s learning.  In Pre-School we aim to further the development that occurred in Rising 3's; we will give the children further opportunities to gain independence and become resilient in preparation for school. The children have a morning of free play followed by lunch, then a smaller amount of free play, moving on to quiet time activities followed by circle time to round of the day.

We have good links with the local schools and during the summer term teachers from the near-by schools will come in and visit the children moving on to their schools.  We even take those children moving onto Dinglewell Infants to visit their classrooms and enjoy a story in the library.
