At Abbeymead Under 5’s we rely on fundraising to provide the children with many extra-curricular activities to develop their life skills. To do this we organise various events throughout the academic year to help raise funds.
We have a fundraising team who plan and co-ordinate all events. Some of the fundraising activities are undertaken in the playgroup sessions whilst others are adult only events.
We also have several on-going fundraising schemes that parents are able to take part with.
Children are provided with a small pot when joining AU5’s. They are encouraged to fill it with pennies or any loose change, the pots are brought into playgroup and placed in the Penny Bucket. The pot is then returned to the child to be filled again.
If you work for an organisation that has a match funding policy, any money that Abbeymead Under 5’s raise could be matched by your employer. Companies may match the fundraising total for an event. Usually, the employee will need to supply them with a letter from playgroup detailing the date and nature of the event, together with the total raised.
We understand that the high street banks, building societies, supermarkets and large corporations are likely to do match funding, but these schemes are not exclusive to the major corporate giants. If you work for an independent company, they may be interested in charitable giving through match funding too.
